Stage 1
Policy
Creation of a robust, compliant set of objectives and corresponding investment policy
Initially, we need to establish your organisation’s goals, priorities, and objectives. This usually takes place in a single, interactive workshop where we carry out a group risk profiling exercise and cover all the necessary areas to ensure we emerge with a single set of objectives.
Stage 2
Analysis
Comprehensive scrutiny of existing investments
Any organisation with funds has an investment strategy. It could be a cash-based strategy, a segregated portfolio mandate, or even managed on a combination of approaches. We have significant experience in analysing portfolios across a wide product spectrum particularly from a suitability and performance standpoint.
Stage 3
Implementation
Implementation of an appropriate and competitive strategy which is aligned to your objectives
Working within the parameters of your investment policy and with you directly, we’ll provide an appropriate shortlist of relevant and competitive solutions. At this point, you can either outsource the final selection to us, or we can co-ordinate a tender process.
Stage 4
Reporting
Creation of a consistent, clear, and repeatable reporting process
A clear reporting methodology needs to be in place so you can measure the performance of the investments against your investment policy. There is no obligation to engage Epoch for any ongoing reporting services, but many clients welcome our oversight as part of the overall strategy review process, valuing our ‘plain English’ approach.

Max is our investment expert, and his core skills lie in portfolio construction. Max is also a thought leader on ethical investing. Max is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and has completed a wide range of industry qualifications
Max has over a decade of financial services experience, working with trustees throughout his career. He initially focussed primarily on undertaking investment analysis, performance monitoring, and regular reviews for existing clients at a professional trustee company.
Amy started her career in a marketing role for an environmental charity before moving into the financial planning world in 2018, joining Epoch. Her initial focus was on providing support to financial planners and their clients. More recently, Amy has begun working with the consulting team to provide the same outstanding service clients have become accustomed to.
Jon jointly leads our charity & not-for-profit proposition and has built a very strong reputation for advising many different types of client since he became a financial planner in 1999. Jon’s time is focussed on two key areas: ultra-high net worth private entrepreneurs and the not-for-profit sector.
Jon’s core skills lie in formulating strategy and assisting clients in making key financial decisions.
Barry has been a financial planner since 1999. Over that time, he has developed a keen eye for getting to the heart of a problem and being able to resolve it swiftly and efficiently. This has proved invaluable on countless occasions over the years and it is this tenacity that has seen him held in high regard by peers and clients alike. Over the years he has been practicing, his areas of expertise have developed to include advising not-for profit organisations, private clients, and business owners.
Helen was an early joiner to the Epoch business, becoming part of the team in 2011. She has provided excellent service and support to both advisers and clients in the financial service industry for well over a decade and prides herself on the ability to communicate with clients clearly and maintaining the highest level of service possible.
